Tradition and conviviality: the Sant'Odilia Festival in San Michele Tiorre

The historical context

San Michele Tiorre, a village located in the heart of the Parma province, renews its annual tradition with the Sant'Odilia Festival. Rooted in local rural culture, the event transforms the town into a meeting point for the community, highlighting the bond between folk traditions and the religious life of the hamlet, which is known for its welcoming landscape and architectural profile reminiscent of the typical Emilian plain.

Event program

The festival kicks off on September 10th with an evening dedicated to dance music, featuring the Rosella e Marco orchestra. The programming continues on September 11th with a shift towards contemporary sounds, thanks to a DJ set by 90 to Dance Generation, designed for a diverse audience.

The day of September 12th is dedicated to conviviality and play. From the morning, the village areas host a children's market, accompanied by wooden recreational installations and inflatable structures. The evening culminates with a performance by the Loredana Ferrari orchestra, followed by a DJ set that will extend the festivities deep into the night.

Religious celebrations and conclusion

The highlight of the festival is scheduled for September 13th, a day dedicated to the patronal feast. The central moment is the traditional procession that winds through the main streets of the village, followed by a solemn Holy Mass officiated by Bishop Enrico Solmi. The afternoon is reserved for further recreational activities, while the official closing of the festival is entrusted to a concert by the Boom Band.

Gastronomy and logistics

The gastronomic offering is a fundamental pillar of the entire event. The food stands, active throughout all evenings, offer a menu firmly anchored in local culinary tradition: handmade tagliatelle, anolini in broth, lasagna, and main courses ranging from baked duck to grilled meats and mixed fried dishes.

Admission to the event is based on voluntary donations, ensuring accessibility for all citizens. We recommend attending during the evening hours to fully enjoy the dining options and live performances in a convivial atmosphere of rediscovering local roots.
