The return of Voci di Maggio to Nuoro
The city of Nuoro, a primary cultural center in the heart of Barbagia, welcomes the 27th edition of Voci di Maggio from October 1st to 4th, 2026. The event takes place in the spaces of Piazza Italia, an urban setting that serves as a bridge between the city's modern architecture and its deep connection to the agro-pastoral traditions of Sardinia. The event positions itself as a privileged vantage point on the island's contemporary cultural dynamics.
A tribute to identity heritage
For the entire duration of the festival, the public can visit a vast fair of typical products and craftsmanship. The exhibition includes the reenactment of ancient trades, a tribute to the historical memory of the region and, in particular, to the figure of Grazia Deledda, whose literary sensitivity was able to narrate with philological precision the life and transformations of Sardinian society between the 19th and 20th centuries. The 2026 program aims to consolidate the bond between local artistic production and international perspectives.
The artistic and cultural program
The opening of the event, Thursday, October 1st, is entirely dedicated to the Voci di Maggio Giovani section, focused on new emerging talents. On Friday, October 2nd, the musical programming opens up to prominent national and regional names with performances by Nomadi, Bertas, and Alessandro Piu. The Piazza Italia stage thus becomes a theater for a dialogue between different generations of artists.
Saturday, October 3rd, explores the connection to intangible culture through a series of meetings and screenings dedicated to cinema. In the evening, the Solemn Presentation of the Palio del Formentino will take place, a moment of high symbolic value for the local community. The day will conclude with the concert by Dolcenera accompanied by Istentales. Finally, Sunday, October 4th, will see the participation of Le Vibrazioni, joined by Daniele Sala, closing a journey that weaves together rock sounds and folk roots. The event represents a testament to the evolution of singer-songwriter music in the Italian landscape, set in a context that values the authenticity of regional expressions.
