Melere Festival: Gastronomic traditions in the heart of Valbelluna

The historical and scenic setting

Located in the heart of the Valbelluna, the Melere area represents one of the privileged observation points over the valley, nestled between the mountain slopes that define the Venetian pre-Alpine landscape. This location, characterized by wide green spaces and a preserved rural dimension, offers an ideal context for events that focus on the identity of the territory and the preservation of local customs.

A gastronomic itinerary in the mountains

The Melere Festival, scheduled from August 1st to 15th, 2026, is a central appointment for the rediscovery of typical Belluno cuisine. The gastronomic offer curated by the local Pro Loco is structured around seasonal products and recipes that define the province's culinary tradition. Main dishes include roe deer and venison served with polenta, as well as casunziei, handmade gnocchi, and Belluno-style rabbit. The culinary experience is completed by a selection of alpine cheeses and wines from regional wineries.

Program and side activities

In addition to the culinary offerings, the event features a varied program designed to involve different age groups. The calendar includes evenings dedicated to live music and traditional ballroom dancing, transforming the area into a social hub in the evenings. At the same time, the event promotes amateur sports with the organization of dedicated tournaments, while the space dedicated to younger attendees includes recreational activities, practical demonstrations, and parades, encouraging family-friendly enjoyment of the area.

Logistical information

The event takes place in Trichiana during the first two weeks of August. Access to the area is free and open to the public, with various parking options marked in the vicinity. For more details regarding the specific evening calendar, table reservations for groups, or further information on side initiatives, you can visit the official Pro Loco website or contact the organizing secretariat by phone during office hours.
