The identity of the route
For three evenings, the medieval district of the Bolsena Castle becomes the hub of Wine & Flowers, an event that weaves together the enhancement of local architectural heritage with the promotion of the food and wine excellence of the Tuscia region. The event is not conceived as a trade fair, but as a narrative path that winds through stone alleys and scenic squares overlooking the volcanic basin of Lake Bolsena.
A dialogue between architecture and botany
The heart of the exhibition lies in the selection of local wineries, invited to present their labels in a context characterized by floral arrangements designed to dialogue with the village stones. The scenographic intervention transforms the pedestrian paths into a stage where botany and viticulture merge, offering visitors a unique perspective on the historical corners of the town, known for its historical stratification ranging from the Etruscan era to the medieval consolidation around the fortified structure of Rocca Monaldeschi.
Sensory experience and conviviality
The proposal is divided into an itinerary that invites a slow and conscious enjoyment of the places. In addition to the technical tasting, participants have the opportunity to delve into the peculiarities of the volcanic soil that defines the organoleptic character of the local wines, accompanied by a selection of traditional gastronomic products. The event thus stands as an operation to enhance the historical landscape, where conviviality becomes the main vehicle to rediscover the village and its architectural conservation dynamics.
Technical details and logistics
Access to the event is via the purchase of a glass at the welcome points located at the entrance to the village. The route develops entirely outdoors, allowing visitors to stop independently along the chosen squares. It is recommended to consult the official channels to check the exact dates of the annual programming, the opening hours of the tasting counters, and the booking methods for any guided tours of the Castle that take place in conjunction with the event.
