End of Summer Festival: performing arts among the villages of the Aosta Valley

A widespread stage between history and contemporaneity

From September 2 to 13, 2026, the MAB (Musée des Alpes) in Bard becomes the driving center for the second edition of the End of Summer Festival. The event transforms the medieval architecture of the Aosta Valley village into an open-air theater, where the historical dimension of the fortifications engages in a dialogue with the avant-garde of contemporary performing arts. The choice to integrate performances into the urban fabric offers the public the opportunity to enjoy prestigious spaces, such as the historic Piazza Cavour, rediscovering the architectural heritage in a new light.

The artistic program

The lineup opens with the performance of Furioso, a work curated by Balletto Civile, which explores movement and the body in relation to public space. The journey continues with Shakespearology, a production by Sotterraneo, a deconstructionist analysis of the figure of the Bard that questions the very nature of theatrical representation. The expressive research is further enriched with Tinta, an artistic project by Vono and Cicconi, accompanied by a program of photographic installations that map the visual memory of the territory.

Territorial expansion and the final ritual

For this edition, the festival consolidates its regional vocation by extending to Aosta. Through an operational synergy with Plus, the festival hosts the performance Mio Eroe by Giuliana Musso, a profound study on language and civic consciousness. This geographical expansion underscores the desire to connect distinct cultural hubs, creating a cohesive artistic ecosystem.

The festival officially concludes on September 13, 2026. For the occasion, a convivial end-of-festival ritual is planned, conceived as a moment of aggregation and synthesis of the experiences shared. The festival is not limited to mere stage viewing, but actively promotes the active participation of the public through a dynamic format that mixes theater, poetry, DJ sets, and collective sharing experiences in a landscape of rare Alpine beauty.
