Snail Festival in Cantalupo: a journey into Umbrian gastronomy

The gastronomic tradition of Cantalupo

From August 21st to 30th, the hamlet of Cantalupo renews its annual appointment with the Snail Festival. The event is a re-evocation of the culinary customs of the Umbrian hinterland, where the territory is enhanced through the rediscovery of ancient recipes. The village, known for its medieval urban layout and panoramic position overlooking the surrounding valleys, becomes the nerve center of local peasant culture for ten evenings.

A dedicated culinary offer

The core of the event is represented by the gastronomic stand, which is operational daily starting from 7:45 PM. The snail, the identifying element of the festival, is offered in various versions, respecting the protocols of traditional cuisine. The quality of the raw materials, selected by local producers, guarantees an authentic sensory experience, inextricably linked to the seasonal cycles and the rural history of the region.

Entertainment and music

The 2026 edition marks an evolution in the schedule of recreational activities. For four evenings, the program will be enriched by live music performances, with the participation of bands and tribute bands that will take turns on the main stage. To complete the offer, there are also performances by show orchestras, designed to accompany visitors in an atmosphere of widespread conviviality. These activities take place in the public spaces of the town, offering the opportunity to experience the historic urban fabric in a dynamic and participatory way.

Logistical information

The event spans the entire period from August 21st to 30th. Access to the food stand is permitted every evening from 7:45 PM. Early arrival is recommended to ensure the availability of seating. For further details regarding the musical program or any logistical changes, please refer to the official communication channels of the event. The organizational structure ensures the proper conduct of activities in compliance with the historic spaces that host the festival, ensuring a smooth experience for all visitors arriving in Cantalupo during the ten scheduled days.
