Jazz Open 2026: the debut of the international festival in Modena

The debut of an international event

From July 13 to 18, 2026, the city of Modena becomes the stage for the first Italian edition of Jazz Open, an internationally renowned festival originating from Stuttgart. The initiative offers a multidisciplinary program that weaves the roots of jazz with pop, soul, and electronic influences, defining an artistic profile that goes beyond the boundaries of the original genre.

The prestige of urban settings

The event is spread across three distinct venues, chosen for their significant historical and architectural value. Piazza Roma, dominated by the imposing profile of the Ducal Palace, home to the Military Academy, hosts the main stage for the most anticipated performances. The structure, a masterpiece of Emilian Baroque, offers a scenic backdrop of absolute prestige.

The Baluardo of the Citadel is transformed for the occasion into an evocative jazz club, designed to offer a more intimate listening experience, in continuity with the tradition of historic European venues. Finally, the Giardino Ducale Estense, a Renaissance-style green space, welcomes the public for a series of free-admission concerts, promoting democratic access to music.

A world-class lineup

The artistic direction has defined a program characterized by national exclusives, attracting artists of established fame. Names of the caliber of Diana Krall, Gregory Porter, Moby, Parov Stelar, Jamie Cullum, Joss Stone, and Jean-Michel Jarre will take turns on stage. Italian representation is entrusted to Luca Carboni, who joins an international context focused on sound experimentation.

Logistical information and accessibility

The festival is scheduled to take place continuously from July 13 to 18, 2026. Tickets for concerts at the main stage and the jazz club are available through authorized sales channels, with subscription options for the entire duration of the event. Performances scheduled at the Giardino Ducale Estense do not require an entry ticket, subject to space availability in the designated area. We recommend consulting the official website for updates regarding the start times of individual shows and current logistical regulations.
